ArtBangGNU
CrunchBang Linux was a distribution created by Philip Newborough. It was based on Debian GNU/Linux and used the Openbox window manager and GTK applications.
This distribution was designed to offer an excellent balance between speed and functionality, it was as stable as Debian itself, in addition to incorporating by default a minimalist and modern interface that could be customized to the extreme, which made this distribution perfect for productivity and to install on computers with few hardware resources.
On February 6, 2015, Newborough announced his withdrawal from the project, leaving it in the hands of the community, but those who picked up the baton did not uphold principles such as minimalism, lightness, and attention to detail. This repository is derived from the latter.
This repository hosts the configuration files used in the article “ ArtBangGNU: Installing and configuring Debian CrunchBang style ”.
Openbox
Openbox is a free window manager for the X Window System, available under the GPL license. It was a project derivative of Blackbox 0.65, but has been completely rewritten and as of version 3.0 is no longer based on any foreign code. It is designed to be fast and consume a minimal amount of resources. To achieve this lightness, it sacrifices some typical functions found in many window managers, such as the menu bar or a list of running applications.

Conky
Conky is a system monitor for X Window systems. It is available for GNU/Linux and FreeBSD. It is free software under the terms of the GPL license. Conky is capable of monitoring various system variables, including CPU, memory, swap, disk space, temperatures, uploads, downloads, system messages and much more. It is completely configurable, the configuration can be a bit difficult to understand, but it is quite possible to do it. Conky is a spin-off of the torsmo project.

dmenu
dmenu is a keyboard-based menu utility developed as part of the dwm project. When invoked, usually by a user-configured key combination, dmenu displays a horizontal menu along the top edge of the screen. The user can start typing a program name and dmenu will shrink the list to show only substring matches of what the user typed.
The user can also use the arrow keys to navigate through the menu. When a choice is made, dmenu sends the selected text to stdout, which is usually piped to a shell to start the program. Command line options can alter the menu’s font and colors, make search case-insensitive, as well as change the menu to a vertical orientation or position it at the bottom of the screen. By default, only fonts from the X font server are supported, although there is a patch to enable TrueType fonts with Xft.

Terminator
Terminator is an open source terminal emulator written in Java. It is available for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Gnu/Linux, and other Unix systems that use the X Window System. Terminator runs on any modern POSIX system running Java 6 or later. Terminator is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2.
Terminator was originally written by Phil Norman, who produced a more or less usable replacement for rxvt on his account between April 21, 2004 and May 28, 2004; about a month of development time. Elliott Hughes took Phil’s terminal emulator and used it as a base upon which he could experiment with the terminal emulator’s advanced features and continued to actively develop Terminator. Martin Dorey ported Terminator to Cygwin.
